‘Clean Cut’ is the new single from Melbourne-based sisters Charm Of Finches. They describe the track as “A piece of self-advice, that ‘making a clean cut’ would be the best way to move forward.” It’s a bewitching track propelled by the duo’s naturally perfect harmonious voices and underpinned by an accompaniment that feels Kate Bush-esque, with pounding, distant drums and carefully positioned acoustic guitar chords and string textures. The track’s music video was carefully directed by the sisters themselves, who managed to turn a Melbourne warehouse into a haunted dolls house in just 24 hours. Charm Of Finches are releasing their new album, Marlinchen In The Snow, on April 19th, 2024 and will be supporting the release with a UK tour starting in May. -Dan Peeke
